FaithShift is a daily Christian devotional app, operated by FaithShift LLC. We built it so that your personal spiritual life stays personal.
Everything you do in the app is stored on your device: your name, journal entries, reflections, prayers, goals, area check-in ratings, saved verses, streaks and progress, and your reading position in the Bible. We do not have a server that collects or stores any of this.
If you turn on iCloud sync (when available), Apple stores an encrypted copy of this data in your private iCloud account so it follows you across your devices. We cannot read it; it is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms.
When you send a message to the coach, that message — along with recent coach conversation, your first name, your focus area, your area ratings, your active goals, and today’s verse — is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (the AI provider behind Claude) to generate the reply. We use this data only to answer your message and to count messages against your plan’s monthly limit. Coach conversations are kept on your device; our server stores only message counts, not message content. Anthropic processes the messages under its commercial API terms, which do not allow using your data to train its models.
The coach is AI and can make mistakes. It is not a substitute for your pastor, a counselor, or a financial professional. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US) or your local emergency services.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Our server verifies your subscription status with Apple to apply the correct coach message limit, identified by a random identifier — not your name or Apple ID.
Progress → “Erase all my data” permanently deletes everything the app stored on your device (and from your iCloud, if sync is on). Because we do not hold your content, there is nothing for us to delete on a server beyond anonymous message counts, which you can ask us to remove.
FaithShift is not directed at children under 13.
